Reclamation announces $9.2 million for Tribal water projects and emergency drought relief supported by the Investing in America agenda
Oct. 23, 2024 – The Department of the Interior today announced an investment of $9 million through President Biden’s Investing in America agenda for groundwater recharge, storage and recovery, and a water rights transition program in Kansas. Biden-Harris Administration Invests $25 Million from Investing in America Agenda in the Sacramento River Valley
Oct. 17, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announced the availability of $25 million from the Inflation Reduction Act for fish habitat and facility improvements in the Sacramento River Valley. This funding will complement the State of California’s Healthy Rivers and Landscapes program, which is working to increase river flows, restore ecosystems and strengthen water supply reliability across the state. -

Pipe replacement delivered for St. Mary Siphon
Oct. 16, 2024 – Reclamation received the first sections of the 90-inch replacement pipe for the St. Mary Siphon, marking a major milestone of the extensive project to restore the damaged siphon. This milestone sets the stage for replacing the critical infrastructure that delivers water to the Milk River Project, a lifeline for north-central Montana ranchers, farmers, and communities. Oct. 15, 2024 – The Department of the Interior, the California Natural Resource Agency and other stakeholders today broke ground on the latest phase of the Salton Sea Species Conservation Habitat Project funded in part through President Biden’s Investing in America agenda. -

Reclamation awards $4.2M for science and technology innovations
Oct. 15, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announced an award of $4.2 million for 31 new science and technology research projects. The projects garnered an additional $11.2 million in matching cost-share funds. Projects were wide ranging from ways to safely eliminate invasive mussels in reservoirs to utilizing robotic crawlers to inspect buried or encased metallic pipe minimizing risks to staff. -

Biden-Harris Administration Joins Gila River Indian Community to celebrate completion of solar over canals project
Oct. 4, 2024 – Bureau of Reclamation Deputy Commissioner David Palumbo joined White House Senior Advisor Tom Perez, Gila River Indian Community Governor Stephen Roe Lewis and community members this week to celebrate the first energy generated from an innovative solar over canals project funded by the Inflation Reduction Act. -
