Active Noise Cancellation System for Power Transformer-Development and Validation

Transformer noise is a silent killer that not only causes hearing loss but also life quality degradation. Unlike the other active noise cancellers developed, the precise ANC model on MATLAB was built and verified through laboratory experiments. The simulation model validity is checked at different locations in acoustical field. The results presented here implies that the model developed here has the capability of reducing the noise efficiently.

Plug-in-hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and the hybrid vehicles are being manufactured by the automotive manufacturers for improving fuel economy and reducing emissions. This paper proposes the bidirectional power converter stage for igniting the car when its battery is exhausted.

Power transformer noise control is inevitable requirement of time in order to protect people’s health and the environment. As the transformer noise is mainly concentrated in frequency below 1500 Hz so a more precise noise canceller is needed. The following research presents simulation of active noise controller in MATLAB/Simulink based on LMS algorithm. Simulation results are discussed to show that the noise of real power transformer can be reduced through the ANC model presented.
