Faryn is an Employment Lawyer. She has acted for clients in a variety of sectors such as the Transport; Food and Beverage; Financial Services; Technology Media and Telecommunications; and Wholesale and Retail sectors. Her experience includes employment law litigation in various forums, such as the CCMA, MEIBC, MIBCO, SARPBAC, and the Labour Court. Faryn provides clients with assistance in disputes relating to unfair dismissals and retrenchments, unfair labour practices as well as collective bargaining disputes with trade unions. Faryn has also drafted legal opinions for local and international clients on all aspects of South African employment law, including the drafting of employment contracts and employee handbooks, and restraint of trade agreements.
Faryn also provides training to the human resources and industrial relations staff of clients on various topics such as initiating and conducting disciplinary hearings, practical training on the CCMA rules (which includes preparing for conciliations and conducting arbitrations), and case law updates as well as amendments to employment legislation such as the LRA, BCEA, and EEA.
Faryn is currently the Managing Director of Ikigai People, a consultancy firm specialising in Human Resources, Employee Relations and Employment Law.
