My name is Almountasirbellah Farrag, and I was born and raised in Abnoub, Assiut, Egypt. From a young age, I had a profound interest in the natural world, which eventually led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at Assiut University. Graduating with distinction and a cumulative GPA of 3.8 out of 4, I cultivated a deep understanding of the biological sciences, laying the foundation for a career that I am passionate about. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a keen interest in genetic engineering, culminating in a research project on the CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing tool. This experience not only honed my research skills but also sparked a desire to further explore the potential of genetic technologies in solving some of the most pressing challenges in biology and medicine. After completing my degree, I took on the role of a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Zoology and Entomology at Assiut University. In this capacity, I have been responsible for guiding undergraduate students through various laboratory courses, including Animal Physiology, Histology, and General Insects. This role has allowed me to deepen my knowledge while sharing my expertise with the next generation of scientists. My commitment to advancing my skills and knowledge has led me to participate in numerous training programs and conferences. For instance, I received training in bioinformatics at the Global For Science & Knowledge E-learning Platform, where I gained proficiency in core bioinformatics concepts and tools, including sequence and phylogenetic analysis. Additionally, I undertook specialized training in tumor biology at the Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt (57357), where I learned advanced techniques such as gene and protein quantifications, mitochondrial functions, and real-time PCR. Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently sought opportunities to apply my theoretical knowledge in practical settings. This was evident during my summer training at the Assiut Oil Refining Company and the Assiut Water and Wastewater Company, where I engaged in chemical analysis and environmental monitoring. These experiences broadened my perspective on the application of biological sciences in industry and environmental management. In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I am proficient in multiple languages, including English, French, and Russian, with varying levels of fluency. I am also well-versed in several computer applications, such as MATLAB, SPSS, and Prism Software, which I use for data processing and analysis. As I continue to grow in my career, I am driven by a desire to contribute to the field of zoology and genetics through research and education. I am deeply committed to exploring innovative solutions that address both environmental and medical challenges, and I look forward to the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.
