City employees are expected to adhere to the following policies and guidelines, which outline their rights and responsibilities as members of the Toronto Public Service.
The City of Toronto’s Accessibility Policy affirms and strengthens the City’s capacity to identify, remove and prevent barriers to access in services, policies, programs and facilities for people with disabilities, in accordance with the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).
Policies for City employees during an election period recognize that most City employees have the right to engage in political activity during their personal time, with limitations on political activity at work.
The People & Equity division develops, implements and maintains corporate policies in the areas of absence from work, pay and benefits, hiring and promotions, health and safety, access, equity and human rights.
People & Equity policies are updated or amended periodically. The current policy in effect will be the version published on the People & Equity Policies page. Guidelines, procedures, and appendices that are associated with a policy are included as attachments to the policy.
