Peter Taylor dismissed suggestions of an impending crisis at Wycombe Wanderers after watching his side slump to their third defeat in five games away to Bradford City, their promotion rivals. A first-half goal from Steve Jones, who is on loan from Burnley, proved enough but Wycombe, who were replaced as league leaders by Brentford last Tuesday, appear to be lacking in confidence as those sides around them begin to gather momentum. Wycombe are now second, only two points and three places ahead of Bradford.
To make matters worse for Taylor, Chris Zebroski was shown a red card for raising his boot towards the face of Matt Clarke, the Bradford defender. The midfield player is expected to be disciplined this week with a club fine.
