Joined May 8, 2008
I am a SAHM of two girls, 3 and 4yo and we have been on the raw food diet since May of '08

I self-diagnosed my oldest daughter with food intolerances to gluten, soy, and dairy at 15 months (4 years ago). I then diagnosed my second daughter with the same allergies. I also found I, myself, am intolerant to these foods. After visiting a Naturopath, we also found we reacted to artificial food coloring and preservatives.

On top of that I noticed that I would become ill after eating some foods, like potatoes. Sometimes I would and sometimes I wouldn’t. ...and my kids seemed to also randomly react to foods. I researched to try to find an answer which eventually led me to the possibility of the problem being enzymes.

I started reserching macrobiotic eating when I came across the book RAWvolution. I was amazed at the types of foods that could be made from uncooked FFV. I started doing tons of research and buying tons of books. I went RAW myself…and during a vacation to Disney to boot. I not only survived eating raw, and losing weight, but I also felt WONDERFUL! When I got back from my vacation I immediately threw everything out of my house, bought a dehydrator and a juicer and started the kids RAW too.

My youngest took to it immediately. My oldest vomited several times. I will never know if it was a stomach bug or detox or what but she cleared whatever it was and is now inhaling FFV and seems to be thriving. Also, my youngest daughter has had consistant solid stool for the first time in months…and my oldest cleared her eczema on her arms. And this is only after week 1.

I am somewhere around 95% raw in the summer and I about 60% raw in the winter (my body is too cold natured in the winter...need steamed veggies to keep warm). My kids are somewhere around 50% raw and they eat eggs and occationally chicken.
