Propertymark survey

We are conducting important research on the gathering of Material Information by property agents. As you know, under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, agents are required not to omit any information that could influence the decision-making process of the average consumer.

Given the challenges in defining what constitutes material information, the National Trading Standards Estates and Letting Agency Team (NTSELAT) issued guidance, with Part A released in May 2022 and Parts B and C in November 2023. This guidance has several implications for sales and letting agents, but it is unclear how agents perceive it and the extent to which it has been adopted.

We aim to understand the uptake, impact, and benefits of the guidance and identify areas where support is needed. To achieve this, we have developed two comprehensive surveys—one for sales agents and another for letting agents.

We kindly ask for your support in distributing these surveys to agent members across the UK to gather industry-wide feedback. Your participation will help us better support the implementation of these guidelines. Thank you for your collaboration!
