Bus Service to the SMART Train Stations

CityBus has ten (10) buses per hour traveling between the Transit Mall and the Downtown SMART Station on weekdays. There are three bus stops near the Downtown train station, all accessible via a pedestrian path next to the tracks. Catch routes 2, 2B, 6, 9, and 12 in either direction between the train station and the Transit Mall and Garage 12.  To plan, pay and track your trip, see these options.

CityBus route 15 stops at the Santa Rosa North SMART station.  Also this train station is a seven minute walk from the Coddingtown Transit Hub, which is served by CityBus routes 1, 6, 10, and 15 and Sonoma County Transit Route 44/48.  Connections to Mendocino Avenue, Downtown Santa Rosa, and many other destinations throughout Santa Rosa can be made at the Coddingtown Transit Hub.  To plan, pay, and track your trip, see these options.

Fare Discount When Transferring from CityBus to SMART Train 

With a Clipper Card you get a train fare discount equal to the amount of your bus fare when transferring from a CityBus to a SMART train, and vice versa.

Commuter Discounted Parking Permit

The Commuter Discounted Parking Permit provides approximately a 50% discounted permit for commuters who regularly use public transportation. The permit is for any transit commuter who can demonstrate over $25/month of Clipper activity.   A commuter would pay $31/month to park at both Lot 14 (5th and Morgan Street Lot), which is walking distance to SMART’s Downtown Station and at the Transit Mall Garage 12

CityBus service to the SMART station is provided via Third Street, one block away from the SMART platform.

From Downtown Transit Mall to the SMART station

  • West Third at Wilson:  Route 6 and Route 9 (trips leave the Transit Mall every 15 minutes on weekdays).  From this stop, walk north on pedestrian pathway along railroad tracks to the SMART platform access.
  • Railroad at West Third:  Route 2/2B and Route 12 (trips leave the Transit Mall every 15 minutes on weekdays).  From this stop, cross Third Street at the traffic light at Wilson Street, walk west on Third Street to the pedestrian pathway along the railroad tracks, walk north on pedestrian pathway to the SMART platform access.

From SMART station to Downtown Transit Mall

  • West Third at Railroad:  Route 2/2B, Route 6, Route 9, and Route 12 (buses every 3-15 minutes).  From the SMART platform, walk south on pedestrian pathway along railroad tracks to Third Street.  Walk east on Third Street to Wilson.  Cross to the south side of Third Street at the traffic light at Wilson.  Proceed east on Third Street to bus stop.

 

North Santa Rosa Station

The Santa Rosa North SMART station is a seven minute walk from the Coddingtown Transit Hub, which is served by CityBus routes 1, 610, and 15, and Sonoma County Transit Route 44/48 and 20.  Connections to Mendocino Avenue, Downtown Santa Rosa, and many other destinations throughout Santa Rosa can be made at the Coddingtown Transit Hub.
  

Buses heading east towards Coddingtown Mall

  • Stop on Guerneville Road about 60 feet east of the SMART station.  This stop is served by CityBus Route 15 

Buses heading west on Guerneville Road

  • On Guerneville Road at Gateway Center (approximately 0.2 miles east of the SMART station).  This stop is served by CityBus Route 15
  • On Guerneville Road at Lance Drive (approximately 700 feet west of the SMART station).  This stop is served by CityBus Route 15.
