Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is committed to ensuring the privacy of individual’s information
- The Kind of Personal Information that Skyrail Collects and Holds
- Personal information collected by Skyrail may include: name, postcode, e-mail address and telephone number, location and notification permissions, and your image, while travelling in a Skyrail gondola.
- How Skyrail Collects and Holds Personal Information
- Skyrail collects personal information directly from individuals in a number of ways. These may include: through our reservations process, application forms, questionnaires, customer feedback forms, third party website advertising, telephone, correspondence or contact in person.
- Skyrail photographs customers while they are travelling on Skyrail. A customer’s photograph is available to purchase at the end of their trip. Photographs are stored electronically with Skyrail but are purged at the end of each day.
- Skyrail operates CCTV across the site in the interests of safety and security. We are unable to switch on/off the CCTV cameras on an individual basis.
- Our web server collects personal information for statistical purposes. Information identified includes the number of users visiting the site, traffic patterns, origin of users, user demographics and referring sites. This is unidentified data and no attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities. The information is used to assess our website performance and to help improve the overall content and layout of the site.
- Cookies may be used to identify you when using the Skyrail website. Types of data may include IP addresses, cookie identifiers, website activity, which are collected for targeted advertising. These features use first-party and third-party cookies to inform, optimise and serve ads based on your visits to our site. This information is used in an anonymous form for statistical purposes and as such cannot identify you individually. If you do not wish to use cookies, you can adjust the settings on your browser to reject cookies or notify you when they are being used.
- Skyrail takes reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date whenever information is collected or used. If individual’s find that the current personal information that Skyrail holds is inaccurate, the individual may approach Skyrail and the information will be amended.
- Skyrail protects personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Personal information may be stored in either electronic data or hard copy documents.
- Generally, only Skyrail authorised users may access personal information and only for approved purposes. However, customer photographs may also be accessed by the third-party photo processing company with which they are stored.
- All Skyrail employees are aware of their obligations under the Privacy Act legislation and Skyrail’s own, specific privacy requirements. All Skyrail employees sign ‘Confidentiality Agreements’ as a condition of employment.
3. The Purpose for which Skyrail Collects, Holds, uses and discloses personal information
Personal information will be used by Skyrail under the following conditions:
- Skyrail will not use personal information, for any purpose, which is not related to the services or products Skyrail provides to individuals. Skyrail may use personal information to inform individuals of other Skyrail products/services which Skyrail feels maybe of some interest/benefit to the individual.
- Skyrail uses and discloses a customer photograph, taken while travelling on the Skyrail gondola, only for the purpose of making that photograph available for purchase to the customers in the photograph. Such photographs may also be used by or disclosed to a third-party photo processing company for this purpose.
- Skyrail will not otherwise disclose personal information to third parties except where it is required by law or where the individual consents.
- Skyrail will not disclose personal information to any third-party individual or entity for marketing purposes.
- Skyrail Audio Guide & Interpretive App, will not disclose a customer’s location or notification permissions which are required for full functionality of the Audio Guide.
- At any time, individuals have the right to request that Skyrail remove their personal details from any Skyrail marketing activity.
4. Skyrail APP: Collection of Information
To enhance your experience and to enable the full functionality of our app, we require access to your device’s location information. This allows us to provide you with specific functionalities related to the location, such as location-based services, personalised content.
Additionally, our app uses push notifications to send you timely updates and important alerts directly to your device. These notifications are designed to improve your app experience by providing relevant information when you need it most.
- Skyrail APP: Use of Information
Location information and notification permissions are essential for the functionality of our app. They help us deliver a personalised and efficient experience while using our app. Here’s how we use this information:
- Location Information: Used to provide personalised content and services relevant to your location.
- Push Notifications: Used to send you personalised content alerts and guest satisfaction surveys.
6. Surveys
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway uses SurveyMonkey to conduct surveys and may collect certain personal information you provide in your survey responses, such as your name, email, phone number/s and other information that may be relevant in the context of particular surveys. 7. Google Analytics
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway uses Google Analytics (Google Analytics privacy policy) as a website analytics tool to collect data about how you interact with the Skyrail website, including:
- device IP address (collected and stored in an anonymized format);
- search terms and pages visited on the Skyrail website;
- date and time when pages were accessed;
- downloads, time spent on page and bounce rate;
- referring domain and out link if applicable;
- device type, operating system and browser information;
- device screen size; and
- geographic location (city).
This information will not ordinarily be personal information, because you will not be identified, or reasonably identifiable from it.
8. Embedded YouTube videos
- Skyrail Rainforest Cableway uses YouTube to host videos which are embedded on its website. Such embedded videos ordinarily use YouTube’s Privacy Enhanced Mode, which prevents the use of views of embedded video content from influencing your browsing experience in general, or from personalising your YouTube browsing experience specifically. Additionally, if ads are served on a video, those ads will be non-personalised, and the view of that video will not be used to personalise advertising shown to you outside of the site.
- When you play an embedded video, the video and associated assets will load from the domain https://www.youtube.com/c/SkyrailRainforestCableway, and other domains associated with the YouTube player.
- YouTube collects information about user activity including videos watched and interactions with content and ads. This information is not made available to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and is instead handled in accordance with the YouTube privacy policy.
- SMS services
Skyrail uses Essendex to provide secured SMS notification services to customers with existing reservations. Essendex is ISO27001 accredited (an independent security standard for establishing, operating and improving Information Security Management). - Credit card payments- Encryption of data
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway takes every precaution to protect user information when making purchases on our website. When users submit sensitive information via the website, the information is protected both online and off-line. The system data transmission is protected by 128/256 bit, secure socket layer technology (SSL) encryption at all times. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) on our website, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). When Credit Card details are collected, we simply pass them on in order to be processed as required. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.
- How an Individual may access Personal Information about the Individual that is held by the Entity and Seek the Correction of such Information
An individual may access personal information by contacting the Privacy Officer, who will be the first point of contact. An individual is entitled to correct their personal information in the event they believe it to be incorrect.
- How an Individual may Complain about a Breach of the Australian Privacy Principles that Binds Skyrail, and how Skyrail will deal with such a Complaint
- If you believe that your personal information has been compromised in any way, please contact the Skyrail Privacy Officer, who will be your first point of contact should a privacy issue arise. Our Privacy Officer will investigate your complaint in complete confidence and make a formal response to you.
- If you are dissatisfied with our internal complaint process the complaint will be passed onto the Privacy Commissioner.
