The mission of the Public Works Division is to provide cost-effective infrastructure for Shelby County residents, which includes a safe and efficient transportation infrastructure, quality recreational facilities and programs, and dependable water and solid waste disposal services. Public Works is comprised of the following functions: 

• Agricultural Extension Services 
• Land Bank 

• Roads, Bridges, and Engineering Department 

• Shelby County Fire Department 
• Shelby County Parks and Neighborhoods 
• Soil Conservation Services 
• Support Services
