U.S Department of Health and Human Services: 2024 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention
The 2024 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention is a bold new 10-year, comprehensive, whole-of-society approach to suicide prevention that provides concrete recommendations for addressing gaps in the suicide prevention field. This coordinated and comprehensive approach to suicide prevention at the national, state, tribal, local, and territorial levels relies upon critical partnerships across the public and private sectors.
The Federal Action Plan identifies more than 200 actions across the federal government to be taken over the next three years in support of those goals.

Crisis Intercept Mapping for Community-Based Suicide Prevention: An Assessment of the Crisis Infrastructure and Future Considerations for 988
In this study they analyzed information collected from 2020 to 2022 Crisis Intercept Mapping (CIM) technical assistance workshops conducted with communities across the country. They found that training and implementation of suicide risk screening, safety planning, lethal means safety, and follow-up were limited and inconsistent among communities. Read the full article.
Suicide Mortality Review
Congratulations to the 12 states and 2 territories who completed the 2024 Suicide Mortality Review process. These teams, like those that completed the process in 2023, will continue to receive ongoing support. These teams are from the following locations: Guam, American Samoa, Hawaii, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
