The 988 & Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office’s mission is to transform America’s behavioral health crisis care system to one that saves lives by serving anyone, at any time, in a seamless way, from anywhere across the nation.

National Mental Health and Substance Use Policy Laboratory

The National Mental Health and Substance Use Policy Laboratory (Policy Lab) leads the equitable coordination, analysis, development, and implementation of national policy to promote mental health, prevent substance misuse and addiction, provide treatment and support recovery.

Center for Mental Health Services

The Center for Mental Health Services leads federal efforts to promote the prevention and treatment of mental disorders. Congress created CMHS to bring new hope to adults who have serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances.

Center for Substance Abuse Prevention

The mission of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention is to improve behavioral health through evidence-based prevention approaches.

Center for Substance Abuse Treatment

The mission of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment is to promote community-based substance use disorder treatment, and recovery support services for individuals and families in every community. CSAT provides national leadership to improve access, reduce barriers, and promote high-quality, life-saving, and effective treatment and recovery support services.
