Navigation chart books for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District waterways are now available for purchase in bound hard copy chart books or can be downloaded for free in PDF. To download these charts browse through the various waterways below and click on the specific waterway that you would like charts for.

The public may also purchase river charts directly from the Government Printing Office website.  These charts show river mileages, navigation markers, features, bridge and other elevated clearance tables.

The Apalachicola, Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers Map Book (1994) can only be purchased in a bound hard copy chart book by calling the Mobile District Navigation Office at (251) 441-5631.

Description

Beginning at Mile 45 at the confluence of the Mobile and the Tombigbee Rivers, the Alabama River flows some 305 miles, being fed by the Coosa and Tallapoosa Rivers at it's head.

Description

There are 3 chart books. One has the entire system and the other two are just the Upper section above Demopolis and the Lower section below Demopolis. So, from Mobile, AL and the Gulf of Mexico, up the Mobile River to the confluence of the Alabama at mile 45, the Black Warrior/Tombigbee Rivers (BWT) continue to Demopolis where it forks off on the Tombigbee to eventually tie into the Tennessee (these chart books do not cover this part of the Tombigbee), and the Black Warrior River to the head of navigation above Birmingham, Ala, and being fed by the Locust and Mulberry Forks. Charts portray all the feature information as in the Inland Electronic Navigation Charts, including Bridge Profiles, Elevated Clearance Tables, and a Recommended Sailing Line.
