Want to find out how times have changed for these adorable dogs and get to know Staffies a little better? Then watch our video below to follow the UK's relationship with Staffordshire bull terriers from the 1920s right up to now.
About Staffies
Staffordshire bull terriers have suffered a great deal from overbreeding and bad press in recent years. Sadly, many have ended up in our care through irresponsible ownership.
However, with the right training Staffies can make wonderful pets, and many of the Staffies in our care are well behaved, affectionate and playful.
Buying a Staffie puppy
Staffies need a lot of commitment and they'll need lots of training and socialisation. This will mean they're able to enjoy the company of other dogs and the freedom of being off-lead when they grow up.
If you're sure that a Staffy is the right breed for you and you can provide a 'forever' home for one, make sure you're buying from a reputable breeder.
Adopt a Staffie
