Guindy Snake Park

Chennai, which is home to India's first public zoo, also has the Guindy Snake Park. It was founded in 1972 and ranked as the eighth-smallest park in the nation. Romulus Whitaker, a well-known wildlife conservationist, developed Snake Park. THINGS TO DO AT GUINDY SNAKE PARK: • Observe the wealth of reptile life here: King Cobra, Banded Krait, vipers, the reticulated python (Python Reticulatus), alligators, and the Indian rock python are just a few popular reptiles that may be found here (Python Molorus). Along with snakes, the park is also home to turtles, crocodiles, and lizards, among other animals. • Snake Park is a national breeding center for the critically endangered python: One of the ecological and biological parks that draw many visitors is this one. The park was created in 1972 to protect the endangered reptile species found in the subcontinent. Many Indian snake species are bred and kept in captivity in the park. A trust known as the Madras Snake Park Trust, created at the same time as the park, looks after Snake Park. An additional draw is a museum with preserved reptiles and amphibian specimens. • The snake park in Chennai has opened many people's eyes to the many truths and myths surrounding reptiles. The park administration holds lectures and demonstrations in Tamil, Hindi, and English to inform and educate the public.
