The late musician Jimmy Buffett was much more than just a shorts-and-sandals troubadour. His flock of devoted fans—Parrot Heads, as they’ve long been known—transformed him into a billionaire with an empire of Margaritaville-themed businesses, including planned communities bearing the salty moniker.

After his passing last year, we took a look at Buffett’s extensive real estate portfolio, with homes in California, New York, and Florida.

Now one of Buffet’s Sunshine State homes is up for sale. And it’s no surprise the Palm Beach residence is the epitome of carefree Florida vibes.

Listed for $7.25 million, the three-bedroom residence brims with unique charm, according to the listing details. While it’s not on the beach, it’s just a short stroll out to the Atlantic Ocean-facing sands.

A piece of paradise

Measuring in at a compact 1,523 square feet, the historic house dates back to 1925. Because of the residence’s compact size, the price per square foot amounts to a robust $4,760. That’s pretty pricey—even by the tony town’s standards. The current median price per square foot in Palm Beach stands at $1,800. But for a buyer motivated to snag a slice of Buffett’s legacy, perhaps the premium is totally worth it.

Tall hedges and a white picket gate shield the home from the street. Just inside the gate, there’s a brick patio fronting the cute, two-bedroom main house. Shutters on the bright white home allow for even more privacy and keep the sun at bay. Inside, gleaming pine floors and a soothing color palette amount to a chill, coastal vibe.

A small but functional kitchen has a skylight above and a wood-topped island—an ideal spot to blend up an adult beverage. Other highlights in the cook space include an open shelving area, intriguing light fixtures, and doors that lead outside. Both bathrooms are clean, white, and bright.

The primary bedroom is also all-white and a soothing respite, while the other bedroom is painted in an aquamarine hue and currently configured as office space.

Studio space

Outside, there’s a detached structure on the property that currently serves as a recording studio, with surfboards stashed in the rafters. A buyer could convert this into an additional bedroom or, if they’re not musically inclined, modify it as a yoga studio, gym, or painting studio.

There’s no pool; but for beachgoers, there are two outdoor showers to rinse off any lingering sand. There’s also a cute patio with seating for evenings when the weather cooperates.

Buffett purchased this home through an LLC in 2002 for $802,000. If the home sells for the asking price, it will represent an 804% return on investment without accounting for any cash Buffett spent renovating the place. Even so, it’s further evidence of the musician’s real estate acumen.
