Goodbye, Cleveland—hello, Detroit!

Longtime NBA coach J. B. Bickerstaff, formerly of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has switched teams and is ready to make the move up I-75 from Ohio to Michigan.

Bickerstaff was hired as head coach of the Detroit Pistons, so his six-bedroom, 6.5-bath, waterfront mansion in Avon Lake, OH, is on the market for $4,999,999.

The house was built in 2002.

This deluxe home wows guests upon entry, thanks to a lofty ceiling in the foyer and a double-sided staircase that rises to the second floor.

Huge windows in the great room, which is opens to the kitchen, highlight views of Lake Erie.

And that kitchen is decked out with a subway-tile backsplash and a dual-level island with seating at one end. There’s also a second kitchen, likely for catering and larger parties.

Two primary suites come with the mansion—one on the main level, which has an office nearby, and another above.

Additional amenities include a home theater, fitness room with lockers, and a pool, spa, and a pool house on the more-than-2-acre grounds. But it’s the water views that make this opportunity special—lake views fill the windows at every turn and from all angles of the property.

Bickerstaff has had a long basketball career. He played at the University of Minnesota and is the son of former NBA coach Bernie Bickerstaff.

J.B. began his NBA coaching career in 2004 as an assistant with the Charlotte Bobcats. He’s been on the coaching staffs of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and most recently, the Cavaliers. His career record as a head coach currently stands at 255-290.
