What is PrimeFaces LTS?

PrimeFaces LTS is a premium support service tailored for applications that prefer to remain on a stable version rather than upgrading to the latest release immediately.

New Update Policy

Previously, users of our Premium Templates and UI Kit enjoyed unlimited updates. Moving forward, we are transitioning to a new policy where you will receive 1 year of free updates from the date of purchase. For example, if your purchase date is July 23, 2024, you will have access to updates until July 23, 2025. This change allows us to continue delivering high-quality updates and improvements while maintaining a sustainable support model.

Update Extension Option

To ensure continued access to updates, you have the option to purchase an update extension. This means you can extend your access to updates for an additional year at any time. For instance, you can extend your update period from July 23, 2025, to July 23, 2026, by purchasing an extension.

Important Information for Existing Customers

If you have already purchased our Premium Templates or UI Kit before these changes, you will automatically receive 1 year of free updates starting today. This means you will have access to updates until July 23, 2025, regardless of your original purchase date.

Support Policy Update

In addition to the update policy change, we have also revised our support policy. PrimeTek offers assistance with account management and licensing issues, with the expectation that users have the necessary technical knowledge to use our products. We do not offer technical support or consulting services. However, you can seek assistance and share knowledge within our community via our public Discord and Forum.

As part of our commitment to our products and the community, PrimeNG v17.18.0 is available for compatibility
with Angular v18 while we focus on building the next-gen version. After v18, PrimeNG will switch to semantic
versioning and our primary focus will be stability.

The retired templates do not mean they are unsupported anymore; they still continue to work, but there won’t be future updates. We’ve created migration guides to assist you with the updates so that you can continue using them with newer versions of Prime libraries as well. At the support forum, our technical staff will continue to provide assistance until the end of 2024. The demos and documentation are no longer available online; instead, run the application locally to access these resources if required.

Declarative Pass Through Syntax
The declarative syntax provides an alternative to the programmatic syntax. The attributes that start with pt are interpreted differently by the component based on the format below. An IDE extension is also being planned to autocomplete the values for better developer experience in the future.

Roadmap

v3.49.0 is the final feature oriented release of PrimeVue as Prime UI libraries are getting ready for the next-gen versions. v4 will be the next-gen version of PrimeVue featuring the new design token based theming API. This work is done already in a separate v4 branch and being worked on for production ready status. V4 is planned by the end of March to bring the CSS variable based theming, layout/typography components and more. In Q2, we’ll use the new features to build the Figma to Theme converter and the new Visual UI Designer. In addition, PrimeBlocks are moving to Tailwind CSS which is planned by end of March.
