Tornado Debris Update

Tornado Debris Update

City Sanitation crews, with the help of debris removal partners, have hauled away nearly 10,675 cubic yards of storm waste. STARTING MONDAY (2/6) through SATURDAY (2/11) we're adding even more resources to the effort!

  • WE NEED YOUR COOPERATION for crews to be able to pick up quickly and efficiently. After next week (2/13/23), crews will begin reverting back to regular collection routes and heavy trash pickup days.
  • PLEASE PLACE TORNADO DEBRIS CURBSIDE BY THE END OF THIS WEEKEND if you live in the tornado path. If not, the debris may remain in place until it is collected by regularly scheduled heavy trash pickup.
  • Do not park on street in front of a trash pile. This prevents Sanitation trucks from getting to the debris.
  • To those in all other locations outside the tornado track, please be patient with our Sanitation department. They have been working long hours and some were even personally impacted by the tornado. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as well as the hard work of our Sanitation staff and partners.

Animal Shelter Help/Pet Donations

Shelter Intake Graphic

Effective Monday, January 30, 2023, The Pasadena Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is temporarily suspending all intakes and surrenders until further notice due to the lack of space and tornado damage.

However, we are still offering services such as pending booster vaccines, heartworm treatments, spay/neuter, and city registration.

All appointments will be handled at the Pasadena Pet Adoption Center (5160 Burke). Call (713) 940-7942 for information.

The Pasadena Animal Shelter sustained over $1 Million in tornado damage. About 200 animals housed in our Shelter and Adoption Center were impacted by the storm. Shelters from neighboring cities and local rescue groups have been wonderful in providing temporary relocation services, but we still need your help.

Please do not call the shelter. Their team is hard at work cleaning up and coordinating resources.

However there are several ways you can help NOW:
