Councilmember Jonathan Estrada was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas. He grew up with his parents and grandparents. His grandparents retired as custodians and maintenance workers from the University of Houston System. His father is a union member, crane operator, and driver; his mother is a custodian. Councilman Estrada understands what it is to grow up in a working-class family and the value of hard work. He was the first one to graduate college in his family. Jonathan is a community product of Pasadena ISD public schools, San Jacinto College, and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He has worked for the City of Houston for nine years, rising to Senior Plan Analyst. He won a runoff election in June 2021 at the age of 29. During his first term in office, he focused on constituent services and infrastructure in his district. Councilman Estrada has been active in his community since he was 22. Councilman Estrada is a proud supporter of our Police Department and city workers. After a successful first term, in May 2023, Councilman Estrada won re-election to City Council for another two years.

Jonathan Estrada holds an Associate of Arts in General Studies from San Jacinto Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Public Service Leadership from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
