R.A.D Class

What Is R.A.D?

Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D) class gives women real techniques to reduce risk and defend against attackers. These 12 hours could save your life.

In the Pasadena Police Department’s R.A.D program, it only takes a few hours, a couple of nights a week to learn how to defend yourself in the event of an attack. The class teaches students simple, realistic self-defense maneuvers and gives them tips about how to recognize and reduce risk in different types of situations.

Program Goals

While the program is focused on achieving some important goals, it is also designed to be a comfortable, informal environment for the students. Participants can tailor the activity level to their needs and take breaks whenever needed. Although not overly demanding, it is a physical course, so students are encouraged to come dressed in athletic or workout clothing, including tennis shoes so that they can move around easily.
