Crime scene unit

The Identification/Crime Scene Investigations Division functions within the Investigations Bureau and is under the authority of Assistant Chief John Dombrowa, while Lieutenant M.P. Jackson and Sergeant Mike Peeples directly supervise three civilian clerks and eight officers assigned to the division.

Responsibilities

The Identification/Crime Scene Investigations Division is responsible for the following:

  • Crime scene processing
  • Latent fingerprint examinations
  • Maintenance of arrest records
  • Operation of the photography lab
  • Property/evidence management

The division is also responsible for the latent Live Scan Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) operation.
