While the Polygraph unit is a facet of the Detective Division, it is under the direct command of Assistant Chief John Dombrowa. The unit is comprised of officers who are assigned to the Investigative Bureau. Members conduct polygraph services for the department on a part-time basis in conjunction with their other official duties associated with their respective assignments.
These officers conduct all polygraph examinations for the department, which include those associated with criminal investigations, known as "criminal specific" polygraphs, and with pre-employment background investigations of all potential police department employees.
