Terry Starnes began his announcing career in 1985 in the small central Texas town
of Mullin Texas. He was asked to fill in for the announcer that didn’t show up.
He had the knowledge but certainly not the experience. He made it through the
performance and was hooked. The stock producer gave him $50.00 when it was
over and he was off and running.
He is now a PRCA Gold Card member which has allowed him to be behind the
microphone in some of most prestigious venues in the country, He and his wife
Shelley an accomplished PRCA Music Coordinator and timer, and also a PRCA
Gold Card holder, have logged hundreds of thousands of miles together.
When not traveling to rodeos and western events Terry wears several different hats
that include being an accomplished silver smith and engraver, a rancher raising
bucking bulls and the owner of a meat seasoning business, aptly names
“ Should’a Bucked Better ” seasonings.
Terry was inducted into the “All American Arena Champion “ Hall of Fame in
2023.
