The District has a variety of incentive programs to reduce air pollution, benefit public health, and help educate students about the importance of clean air. These programs include the Old Car Buy Back Program, where eligible vehicles 1997 model year or older can be salvaged for $1,000; and the Woodsmoke Reduction Program, which provides up to $5,000 to replace an existing wood-burning stove or fireplace.
