Brow Lift
One of the earliest signs of facial aging is drooping of the eyebrows; this is especially common in the area above the outside corner of your eye. This "hooding" of the eye can make you appear older or more tired than you really are. It can also make your eyes appear more deeply set and accentuate crow's feet. As your eyebrows get heavier or obstruct your vision, you will involuntarily use your forehead muscles to raise your brow, which produces horizontal lines on your forehead. You may also have vertical lines above your nose (glabellar area); this can come from excessive muscular tone or use in that area. The furrowing of this area can make you appear angry or frustrated. Hooding and wrinkles on your forehead can be dramatically improved with a forehead lift.
A forehead lift can be done through small incisions behind your hairline. The underlying attachments of the forehead are released using a lighted telescope (endoscope) through those hidden incisions. The frowning muscles are also weakened. This allows the forehead to be placed in a more youthful, natural position and improve facial appearance. This procedure is often combined with other facial surgeries such as blepharoplasty and/or lower face/neck lift.
After the procedure, you'll need to avoid straining for the first two weeks, but you should be able to resume your normal activities within 2-3 weeks. Plan to be out of work for 1-2 weeks.
