ARTICULATION PRIZE SINGAPORE

 

The Articulation Prize Singapore is co-organised by National Gallery Singapore (the Gallery) and Singapore Art Museum (SAM) in conjunction with National Gallery, London. It is designed to promote the appreciation and discussion of art among young people and to develop their confidence and ability to express their opinions and thoughts on current issues that matter to them. Students will be invited to deliver a visual presentation about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice to an audience.

 

 

 

Key Features

Articulation invites leading arts experts/practitioners to adjudicate the Semi-finals and Grand Finals. At the Semi-finals and Grand Finals, every student delivers their presentation to an audience and adjudicators. Emphasis is placed on research, presentation skills, original thought and evidence of each speaker’s unique potential.

Eligibility Criteria and Registration

The Articulation Prize Singapore 2024 is open to all full-time students aged 15–19 and based in Singapore.

Interested applicants must register through their respective schools.

Each schools can select up to five students to submit their recorded presentations.

DISCOVERY DAYS

 

Discovery Days are designed to develop and support young people’s understanding of and engagement with art. During this half-day workshop, participants will explore National Gallery Singapore's current exhibitions and long-term displays as well as the Learning Gallery, which is managed by the Singapore Art Museum, through research, group discussion and interviews with curators. At the end of the day, every student will present their research and personal responses.

Discovery Days will be held at National Gallery Singapore.

 

LEARNING RESOURCES

 

To support the development of students’ visual literacy and research skills, resources that introduce students to selected artworks from the National Collection are available.

ABOUT PARTNERS

 

The National Gallery, London is the new home of Articulation, a national education programme for students aged 14–23 since 2022. This programme champions the arts and empowers young people to look at, understand and present the wider visual world.

Articulation was originally established in 2006 by the Roche Court Educational Trust, an arts education charity based in the Roche Court Sculpture Park and New Art Centre in Wiltshire, UK.
