When you get Adult Disability Payment

If you can get Adult Disability Payment, you’re entitled to it from the earliest date possible, not from when you get your decision letter. This is when you either:

  • submitted part 1 online
  • completed part 1 over the phone

Your first payment after 4 weeks

You’ll get payments every 4 weeks. Your first payment will come:

  • after the first 4 weeks have passed
  • into your bank account

If you're terminally ill, you’ll get weekly payments in advance.

If things change

You must contact Social Security Scotland if:

  • you change bank account
  • your circumstances changes
  • you no longer need Adult Disability Payment
