The Water Treatment Plant is responsible for providing safe, clean, and adequate volumes of drinking water for firefighting, residential, and commercial use. The Water plant staff also operates and maintains three, 3-million-gallon ground storage reservoirs, five elevated water tanks, seven booster pump stations, and 9 flow control vaults 24 hrs. per day 365 days per year. We provide water to the City of Minot and several other communities through the Northwest Area Water Supply (NAWS). The water supply comes from 16 wells located in Minot and SE of Minot. The wells have an average hardness of 500 ppm. Through the treatment process, we soften the water to a range of 100 ppm to 150 ppm.
