Committees

EMS Coordination Committee (EMSCC):
The Emergency Medical Services Coordination Committee was created by statute. The committee is responsible for: providing for the coordination and exchange of information on emergency medical services programs and services, acting as liaison between organizations and individuals involved in the emergency medical services system, and advising the department concerning vehicle standards for ambulances. The Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services appoints the voting members of this committee. Statewide Trauma Advisory Committee:
The Statewide Trauma Advisory Committee (STAC) is a subcommittee of the Emergency Medical Services Coordination Committee (EMSCC). STAC is established under the EMSCC to advise and assist the department on all matters concerning the development, implementation, and promulgation of rules for the implementation and continuing operation of the Statewide Trauma Care System. STAC's membership is strictly defined in the statute. Members are appointed by the Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and serve a four year term. Designation Subcommittee:
The Designation Subcommittee is established under the Emergency Medical Services Coordination Committee (EMSCC) and the Statewide Trauma Advisory Committee (STAC). The responsibilities of the subcommittee, as set forth in the EMSCC bylaws, are to review applications for designation for compliance with rules and standards, and make recommendations to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The Designation Subcommittee will also review the reports of state verification teams for in-state verified Level III and Level IV hospitals in order to provide verification and subsequent designation recommendations. Statewide Stroke Care Subcommittee:
The Statewide Stroke Advisory Subcommittee is established as directed by the Stroke Systems of Care Administrative Rules, to assist the department on all matters concerning the development, implementation, and promulgation of rules for the implementation and continuing operation of the Statewide Stroke System of Care.

Statewide STEMI Care Subcommittee:
The Statewide STEMI Care Advisory Subcommittee is established as directed by the STEMI Systems of Care Administrative Rules, to assist the department on all matters concerning the development, implementation, and promulgation of rules for the implementation and continuing operation of the Statewide STEMI System of Care.
