Community Partner Training

The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services is providing MI Bridges training for Access, Navigation and Referral partners.  An agency must be registered in MI Bridges as a community partner to participate in a training.  For more information on the trainings or if you have any questions, please contact MDHHSCommunityPartners@michigan.gov.

Navigation Partner:

If your agency will be registering as a Navigation Partner, all users assigned to the Navigator role will need to attend a MI Bridges Navigator training webinar. This webinar is necessary due to the enhanced features Navigation Partners will be expected to assist clients with.

Access Partners:

If your agency is registered as an Access Partner, please review a brief online, self-paced training.  The training will give you an overview of MI Bridges, explain the role of an Access partner, and highlight features and functionality of the MI Bridges portal.

    Past Webinar Recordings:

MI Bridges Renewal Training (October 2020) - The benefits renewal process is now simpler for food, health care, child care and cash assistance clients with the rollout of new, streamlined benefits renewal form.  Project Re:New improves client experience across four largest assistance programs as more families and individuals need help. In addition to the updated benefits renewal process, there were updates made to MI Bridges to assist MI Bridges Navigators to assist clients with their renewals. This webinar will explain the updates.

    Health Coverage 101

This webinar will cover 3 coverage options available in Michigan: Marketplace, Medicaid, and Medicare. We will provide an overview of the basics for these three options: when to apply, where to apply, where to find free help, etc.

    Picking a Plan: Marketplace Coverage

This webinar will provide an overview on what a consumer should consider when choosing a Marketplace plan like how advanced premium tax credit (APTC) and cost sharing reductions (CSR) can impact costs, what's covered, and the differences between the metal categories (bronze, silver, and gold).

    Picking a Plan: Medicare

If you are new to Medicare, you need to know what kind of coverage a client wants. There are several options like ice cream… chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. If clients want drug coverage for the new year they may have as many as 40 options depending on where they live. If they kept their plan from last year their drug costs could be $9,000. If they compare options, the costs would be $1,200 for 2021. Learn the things to look for.

    Picking a Plan: Medicaid

Once a client has been approved for health care coverage/Medicaid, this webinar will discuss the ways a client can choose a health plan.
