London Underground

District line

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September
No service between Earl’s Court and Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia) and Richmond
  • Use local or rail replacement bus services.
  • This is due to Network Rail track work.

Piccadilly line

Friday night into Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September
No service on the entire line during Friday Night Tube, and no service between King’s Cross St Pancras and Northfields/Uxbridge, including during Saturday Night Tube
  • Use alternative Tube services and local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run.
  • This is due to planned engineering work.

London Overground

Saturday 14 September
No service between South Acton and Richmond until 13:00
  • Use local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run between Richmond and Acton Central. This is due to Network Rail bridge maintenance work.
Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September
No service between Willesden Junction and Richmond after 13:00 on Saturday and all day Sunday
  • Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run. This is due to Network Rail track work.
No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction
  • Use alternative Tube and rail services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run between Canada Water and Clapham Junction. This is due to Network Rail track work.
Sunday 15 September
No service between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town, Cheshunt and Chingford until 10:15
  • Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run. This is due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work.
Chingford services will not call at Bethnal Green all day
  • Use alternative London Overground services after 10:15, or Tube services or local bus routes for the rest of the day. This is due to Network Rail infrastructure work.
Monday 16 until Thursday 19 September
No service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt after 22:45 each night
  • On Wednesday only, the last train from Liverpool Street to Cheshunt will be at 22:15. Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run. This is due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

Elizabeth line

Sunday 15 September
Reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow/Reading
  • This is due to HS2 works at Old Oak Common station.

DLR

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September
No service between Stratford International and Woolwich Arsenal, and between Poplar and Beckton
  • Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run. This is due to essential work for the new DLR trains.

Long Term work affecting London Underground

Until December 2024
Colindale station is closed
  • Use local bus route 204 to/from Burnt Oak station for the Northern line. Bus routes 142, 186, 303 and 324 also provide connections to nearby Tube or Thameslink stations.
  • During weekday peak times, additional bus route NL6 will run between Colindale and Hendon Central. Journeys on this route will be free of charge.
  • Fares will also be refunded automatically on bus route 186 between Mill Hill Broadway and Hendon Central stations for relevant journeys.
  • Step-free access to the Tube is available at Hendon Central and Edgware stations.
  • This is part of works to support the Colindale station upgrade.

Buses and roads

Until Sunday 15 September
Hampstead Road
  • Until 18:00 on Sunday 15 September, Hampstead Road will be closed in both directions at the junction with Drummond Street. This is due to emergency gas works.
Thursday 12 September
O2 Arena
  • From 18:30 until 22:30, the O2 Arena will host a music concert. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Friday 13 September
Central London
  • From 16:00 until 23:00, a charity walk will take place through central London, starting and finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground. Large crowds are expected.
Lambeth
  • From 15:00 until 21:00, Castle Square will host a cultural event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
O2 Arena
  • From 18:30 until 22:30, the O2 Arena will host a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Friday 13 until Sunday 15 September
Gunnersbury Park
  • From 12:00 until 22:30 on Friday, from 14:00 until 22:00 on Saturday and from 11:00 until 22:00 on Sunday, Gunnersbury Park will host a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Burgess Park
  • From 12:00 until 22:00 on Friday and from 12:00 until 22:30 on Saturday and Sunday, Burgess Park will host a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Saturday 14 September
Lambeth
  • From 12:00 until 18:00, Walworth Square will host a cultural event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Twickenham Stadium
  • From 12:00 until 19:00, Twickenham Stadium will host the England v New Zealand Women’s Rugby match, with kick off at 15:00. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the match.
Hounslow
  • From 13:00 until 17:00, a religious procession will take place in Hounslow. The procession will start at the Hounslow Jamia Masjid Car Park in Wellington Road South at 14:00. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Sunday 15 September
South London
  • From 05:30 until 12:00, the London to Brighton Cycle Ride will take place, starting at Clapham Common and passing through Wandsworth, Merton and Sutton. The event will start at 06:15, with all riders expected to be clear of the M25 by 12:00. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Kew and Richmond
  • From 06:00 until 17:00, a 10k, half marathon and marathon will start at the Royal Botanic Gardens and finish at Old Deer Park. The route will make use of the paths inside Kew Gardens and the tow path from Kew through Richmond, so there will be no road closures for the event, but large crowds are expected.
O2 Arena
  • From 18:30 until 22:30, the O2 Arena will host a music concert. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Until mid-October
A40 Westway
  • The A3220 West Cross Route from Holland Park roundabout to the Westway roundabout will be closed to northbound traffic. This is due to planned critical safety and maintenance works.
  • The northbound on-slip from the A3220 West Cross Route to the A40 Westway and westbound off-slip from Westway roundabout to Wood Lane will also be closed. There will be no access to the A40 from the A3220 West Cross Route. The eastbound on and off-slip road and the A3220 southbound slips will remain open.
  • Signed diversion routes will be in place but local roads are expected to be extremely busy. Long delays to join the A40 Westway are likely. Use alternative routes such as A312 The Parkway or the A406 North Circular for connections with the A4.
Until 10 November
Farringdon Road
  • Farringdon Road will be closed southbound between Ray Street Bridge and Charterhouse Street. This is due to essential Cadent Gas works.
Monday 2 September until mid-October
A40 Westway
