Police provided update on Kentucky shooting

A manhunt resumed in southeastern Kentucky early Sunday as law enforcement searched for the suspected gunman who authorities say opened fire near Interstate 75, injuring seven people in the shooting and a car accident. Law enforcement agencies are combing the area along the highway on foot and with a drone after the shooting unfolded Saturday around 6 p.m. near exit 49, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities have named Joseph A. Couch, 32, a person of interest in the shooting, and warned the public he is considered armed and dangerous.

Earlier on Saturday, Kentucky authorities reported an "active shooter situation," with "numerous" people shot. Student fatally shot in high school bathroom

One student is dead after a shooting occurred in the boy's bathroom of Joppatowne High School Friday afternoon, according to Harford County officials. According to police, the shooting occurred in a first-floor bathroom during an altercation and things escalated to a single shot being fired by the suspect. Police say the suspect left the school grounds after the shooting while other individuals took the victim out of the bathroom where nurses attended to him.
