Hezbollah retaliates after Israel kills commander

An Israeli strike kills another senior Hezbollah commander as tensions between the two sides rage on, a Hezbollah official told The Associated Press. A Hezbollah statement identified the killed commander as Mohammad Naameh Nasser, who went by the name “Abu Naameh,” his nom de guerre. The strike happened near the city of Tyre as global diplomatic efforts have intensified to prevent clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli military from spiraling into an all-out war that could possibly lead to a direct confrontation between Israel and Iran. Hamas shares latest plan on potential cease-fire

Hamas has shared their cease-fire plan as Israeli attacks surge. Along with the cease-fire, there is a potential deal for the release of Israeli captives being held in Gaza. Israel is examining the offer and “will convey its reply” to the mediators, its spy agency Mossad said in a statement. At least 38,011 people have been killed and 87,445 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7. Ken Gray joins Jeane Franseen on LiveNOW from FOX to discuss the latest on the Israel-Hamas war.

Hezbollah leader calls for Gaza cease-fire

Hezbollah’ deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Kassem, said in an interview with The Associated Press the only sure path to a cease-fire on the Lebanon-Israel border is a full cease-fire in Gaza. Kassem said Hezbollah’s role in the Israel-Hamas war has been a “support front” for Hamas, their ally. “If the war stops, this military support will no longer exist,” Kassem said. The deputy leader stated that if Israel scales back its military operations without a formal cease-fire agreement and full withdrawal from Gaza, the implications for the Lebanon-Israel border conflict are less clear. New 9/11 video revives questions about Saudi role

9/11 Justice, which also includes survivors and first responders, are calling on Biden and Trump to address new footage allegedly showing a Saudi agent “casing” the U.S. Capitol as the terror attacks were being planned. The group addressed what they say is “explosive” revelations. 9/11 Justice is also urging Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to provide “justice and closure” to families of victims. “As a former FBI Special Agent who took part in the investigation of the 9-11 attacks (Flight 93), of which the majority of the terrorists were Saudi, I have so many questions here," William Evanina, who was head of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center during the Trump administration, posted on X this weekend. “Evidence is evidence. And it took a civil court case for the release?” LiveNOW from FOX will update as this progresses.

An Israeli airstrike has killed at least nine people in Khan Younis, Palestinian health officials said Tuesday. Israel orders Palestinians to flee Khan Younis

On Monday, the Israeli army ordered a mass evacuation of Palestinians from Khan Younis. This is a sign that troops are likely to launch a new ground assault into the Gaza Strip's second-largest city. The order suggests that Khan Younis will be the latest target of Israel's' raids into Gaza. Much of Khan Younis was destroyed in an assault earlier this year, but a large number of Palestinians had moved back to escape another Israeli offensive in Rafah. US military heightens security due to threats

Security protection has been raised by the U.S. military at its bases throughout Europe, asking service members to keep a lower profile and be more vigilant due to threats it is seeing across the region. U.S. European Command said in a statement Sunday that a “variety of factors play into the safety of U.S. military community abroad.” The increase of threat level to Charlie, the second-highest of five levels for service members, comes from a combination of elections in the U.K. and France, the upcoming Olympic games and the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza, according to two U.S. officials who spoke on the condition. They have not said they are aware of any specific threat. Ken Gray joins Jeane Franseen to discuss the latest.

Kenyans protest despite president's U-turn

Protests in Kenya continue Thursday against a proposed finance bill tax increase despite the president’s decision not to sign it after the plans sparked deadly chaos in the capital and part of the parliament building being burned from protestors. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday urged the young protesters to call off planned protests and give dialogue a chance. Protesters who said last week that they would march to the State House on Thursday say they still do not trust President William Ruto, who has said the tax hikes would be withdrawn and budget cuts would be made.

Ship attack in Red Sea likely by Houthi rebels

In the latest maritime assault, a ship has been attacked in the Red Sea likely by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, a private security firm said. The ship issued a radio call while off the coast of the rebel-held port city of Hodeida stating they had been hit. It is not clear if the ship was damaged or if anyone was hurt in the assault. Neither the U.S. or British militaries immediately reported the attack. Yemen’s Houthi rebels did not immediately claim the attack. The Houthis claim that their attacks target ships connected to Israel, the United States or Britain, but many of the attacked ships do not have a connection to the Israel-Hamas war.
