Today, I came across an inspiring and witty farewell video from BMW dedicated to Mercedes-Benz CEO Dieter Zetsche on his retirement. The video humorously captures Zetsche's transition from Mercedes-Benz to enjoying the freedom of driving a BMW i8 Roadster. This playful yet respectful tribute is a fantastic reminder of the significance of healthy competition in the business world. Rivalries like the one between BMW and Mercedes-Benz push boundaries, foster innovation, and drive both companies to achieve excellence. As professionals, we can learn a lot from this example. Healthy competition not only keeps us striving for better but also fosters mutual respect and admiration among industry peers. Here’s to celebrating our competitors, who inspire us to continually improve and evolve. Check out the video and join me in appreciating the power of friendly rivalry in propelling us all forward. https://lnkd.in/eYyfRqGG #Business #Competition #Innovation #Marketing #Leadership #MKTG5519

Where are the people today - LEADERS who could be compared to this man? Ferdinand Piech was a true leader who built the Volkswagen brand as we know it today, and rebuilt a smaller car company into a global leader in the car industry. Which in its time raised not only the German but also the entire european automotive industry. When the answer, I can't, I can't, didn't exist in the dictionary... We are currently participating in an unprecedented period, when changes that affect us all cause uncertainty and create tension in society .It is all the more important to recognize leaders and install them in leading positions and live out of this dead end expected loss. The words that this important person said 31 years ago are all the more relevant today. Let's face the problems together and start solving them without resigning and handing over the European industry to the rescue. How else can we perceive this conversation, which is still relevant today, with a high degree of tension, and the decisions cannot be made for everyone who listens to it. Soon we will commemorate the 5th anniversary of the death of this important innovator, manager, but especially leader, who left us on August 25. 2019. #vw #europe #autoindustry #mobility #changes #leaders #ferdinandpiech #automotivenews #autonews #club30 #nadaciaunitedphilantyropy https://lnkd.in/e6xvR3At

🌟 A Journey of Innovation, Emotion, and Leadership: The Birth of Mercedes-Benz 🌟 In the early days of Mercedes-Benz, a story of passion and perseverance began with a single car and a dream shared by a visionary and his supportive wife. Karl Benz, driven by innovation, created the first automobile, but it was his wife, Bertha, who believed in him unconditionally. Bertha's courageous 66-mile journey in their first car wasn't just a test drive; it was a testament to their shared faith and determination. Her pioneering spirit and unwavering support transformed a groundbreaking invention into a global legacy. This story reminds us that behind every great innovation, there are emotions, dreams, and relentless dedication. True leadership and success are built on the foundation of unwavering support, collaboration, and the courage to believe in a vision, even when the world is skeptical. At Mercedes-Benz, this legacy continues to inspire us. It teaches us that every milestone we reach and every challenge we overcome is not just about the product we create, but about the people, the passion, and the persistence that drive us forward. Let's lead with heart, innovate with passion, and support each other unconditionally. Together, we can turn dreams into reality. #Leadership #Innovation #Teamwork #MercedesBenz #Inspiration

🚀 Leaders on Wheels: Weekly Insights into Automotive History and Leadership: Enjoy! 🚗 In 1962, Lee Iacocca and his team at Ford embarked on a visionary quest, recognizing the market need for a mid-level mid-engine roadster line. The T-5 project quickly #materialized, culminating in the iconic Mustang within just 18 months. This initiative showcased visionary leadership, with Iacocca demonstrating foresight and innovation in identifying untapped opportunities in the automotive landscape. 🧠 To meet tight deadlines, Ford employed strategic resource allocation, repurposing components from existing Ford lines like the Falcon and Fairlane. This approach underscored Ford's commitment to efficiency and adaptation, maximizing output while navigating challenging circumstances. 📈 The Mustang's #development demanded relentless innovation across design, engineering, and production fronts. Ford's dedication to pushing boundaries and challenging norms epitomized a culture of continuous improvement, setting industry standards and driving progress. 📝 Despite being technically released in 1965, the Mustang quickly gained traction as the 1964 1/2 model, showcasing Ford's #adaptability and #customercentric approach. Capitalizing on early success, Ford propelled the Mustang to #prominence, exceeding sales expectations and solidifying its position as an industry leader. 💪 The Mustang's remarkable #sales success, reaching 400,000 units sold in 1965 and achieving the milestone of one million units sold within two years of production, highlighted Ford's commitment to tangible results and customer satisfaction. 🔢 As the longest-running production model sold by Ford since 1964, the Mustang's enduring success reflects Ford's ability to #navigatechange and evolve. Despite leadership changes and socioeconomic shifts, the Mustang remains a symbol of Ford's resilience and adaptability. 🕰 The introduction of the electric variant, the Mach-E, in late 2020 marked another milestone in the Mustang's #history, showcasing Ford's commitment to innovation while honoring the Mustang's #legacy. ⚡ Reflecting on the Ford Mustang's journey, we observe exemplary #leadership qualities such as #vision, #strategicthinking, #innovation, #adaptability, #performanceorientation, #longevity, and #continuousevolution. I started this post hoping to write something about Maserati (and referencing an article I stumbled into)- but the pieces I came across were more about smooth, powerful engines, comfort/style, and legacy/consistency. Wait - maybe there's more to it... - Smooth- Who wouldn't want a smooth running operation, free of hiccups, and full of high end results? - Powerful Engines - There's efficiency, and there's strength - combined into one. What makes your organization hum and jump to 100mph in the blink of an eye? - Comfort - People want to know their roles and responsibilities are secure. It's not complacency, it's knowing that what you're doing matters, and is visibly appreciated - Consistency - be diligent about your efforts. Repeating impactful behaviors (salespeople liken it to their activities). Point of the story? Whether your company is a Maserati, or a steady Toyota, you need these elements in your organization. You have to maintain them, change the tires out, give it gas, etc. OR you can run it into the ground like a jalopy. What will you choose? #leadership #employeeretention #maserati #carstories #betterculture (No, I didn't get a fancy new car - sadface)
