Do not let the # of applications for a job deter you from applying for a role online! Seeing 100+ applications can be very dauting when going to apply for a job on LinkedIn. Please so not let this stop you. Just because there are lots of applications does not mean all 100+ people are suitable for the role, or it meets a candidates needs. Examples: - Salary not right - Location not right - Type of role not right - remote/hybrid/Onsight - No longer available to accept a new job - Language barriers Now these are all factors which play a large role in finding a new role. I guarantee not all 100+ candidates will suit in terms of points mentioned above. You can still secure a job from an online application too. Landing your dream job whether that is permanent or temporary can be hard. Our recruiters have seen this from all sides and that is why we wanted to give you some tips and advice on how you can avoid being stonewalled by a recruiter. 1. What is your WHY❓️ There’s a saying in recruitment that goes “you’re only as good as your last candidate”. A good recruiter is not going to risk sending in a CV unless they’re absolutely sure you’re right for the job, so you need to give us all of the ammunition you can to champion that you are the right person for the role. 2. How LIKEABLE are you❓️ Show us that you’ve got an infectious personality, and are going to shine in front of my client. 3. Always be REALISTIC ❗️ Having transferable skills are great but they have to be realistic to the role. For example: if it’s a field-based role and you don’t have a driving license, don’t try and convince us that your friend will drive you around the country all day. 4. STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD ❗️ We read through lots of CV's every day. Make sure that your CV stands out from the crowd and make sure that you get your personality across 5. Remember your CV isn't everything ❗️ Remember that your CV doesn’t tell an employer what you’re like as a person. Cultural matching is becoming more and more prominent in the world of recruitment.
