Employee Appreciation Day is 5 days away! (3/1) Count down with me! 5 Reasons I’m celebrating my team this week: 1. When things get tough, the team gets tougher. Challenges? Bring ‘em on! Pivots? We got that! 2. Clear is kind (Thanks Brené for the motto). We’re a high-trust team that give each other the real talk when needed, in the spirit of excellence. 3. Authenticity is embraced. Continuing on with sharing St Vincents StriVe Strategy Values.... RESPECT; it may sound like a very simple 101 when it comes to achieving workplace cohesiveness, and that's because it is. Our foundations are everything and without respect, we'd truly have no legs to stand on. Recognition as a practice of gratitude for all aka inclusion and an attribute to camaraderie, not for some aka an office politic or a nice-to-have tool. Looking at the Ston Walls, one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in the world, makes me reflect on gratitude: See and recognise the good things by everyone (Nhìn thấy những điều mọi người làm đúng) and recognition as a tool. Everytime gratitude for all at work comes to context, I recall the happy moments of reading about Appreciation week at Coats in their 2023 culture audit. Added with the stories from Quyen Le shared in the Culture Code series and personal reflections of a Coats HRBP lady in our chats, I know why the annual one week ritual of Appreciation can be successfully implemented throughout those years: Good deeds by employees are not taken for granted both by Coats as a great place to work and Coats employees who sincerely feel grateful to the extra miles by the co-workers so that they can be successful at work.
