How can partnerships between women-led businesses and the financial ecosystem drive the net zero transition? 🧐👇 We hosted our second annual Women Mobilising Sustainability event in London this week, celebrating the huge contribution women-led businesses supported by NatWest are making towards a more sustainable economy – and championing the power of partnerships in mobilising capital and know-how to drive a just transition. From startups to the largest global investors, participants shared their views on how sustainability strategies can be good for the bottom line and the planet, creating new business opportunities and enhancing enterprise value while mitigating climate risk. “Partnership between women-led enterprises and the wider ecosystem of know-how and capital mobilising around sustainability is crucial for avoiding and reversing climate change,” said Caroline Haas our Head of ESG Capital Markets. “We all have such an important role to play in fostering these connections and NatWest appreciates the support from our customers to enable these ambitions.” Here are Caroline’s top 3 takeaways from the event: ✅ Businesses need long-term regulatory certainty: it’s not just about how much governments invests, but how consistent policies are maintained over business cycles. ✅ Climate impacts nature – but nature benefits climate: investing in strategies that foster nature preservation will have a positive impact to help mitigate climate change. ✅ Embed sustainability at every level: only by incorporating ESG relevant data from the boardroom to the mailroom and beyond-can you generate the momentum and understanding for qualified, impactful decisions. Thank you to our distinguished speakers and panelists, NatWest colleagues, and of course to all the women entrepreneurs who joined us in London this week.
