Media Planner
The role of the Media Planner is a broad one and will give you exposure to all functions within Media: research and strategy, planning, negotiation, implementation and analysis. It combines creative thinking with factual analysis to develop innovative strategies to ensure campaigns reach their target audiences as effectively as possible. All media plans will span digital and traditional outlets.
This role will be based in St. Louis or Chicago and will require the candidate to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with Customer Experience Strategists, Account Managers, Media Buyers and relevant subject matter experts to develop an overall paid media plans
- Creates all aspects of a media plan, including developing strategy, selecting appropriate vendors, and working closely with search and paid social teams on recommended tactics and the analytics team to ensure proper tracking is enabled
- Researches and vets media vendors as well as assisting in negotiations
- Is the primary media contact with clients on assigned accounts
- Writes and presents media flowcharts to clients
- Monitors performance and makes necessary optimizations throughout the life of a campaign
- Works closely with assigned media buyer to manage budgets
- Helps craft client reporting, working alongside an Customer Experience Strategists and other team members
- Maintain expert knowledge of all paid media vehicles and contributes to agency education and knowledge sharing
- Able to produce high-quality work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of media planning/strategy experience
- Comfortable working in all forms of paid media, including programmatic display/native/video, streaming video/audio, location-based platforms, social platforms, the Google Suite (paid search, YouTube, Gmail, etc.), trade publications/sites, linear TV, terrestrial radio, out-of-home, and print
- Ability to strategically assess opportunities quickly and make data-driven decisions resulting in tangible improvements in performance
- Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- A strong communicator with compelling writing and presenting skills, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to get things done
- A proactive, progressive media expert who is a digital innovator
