Program Description: The Black in AI Programs foster an inclusive end-to-end ecosystem with initiatives including mentorship to current and prospective graduate and post-graduate students, advocacy to remove barriers faced by underrepresented groups in AI, and summer research programs offering undergraduate students research support and guidance.
The Program Associate Will
Program Support – 70%
- Provide daily operational and administrative program support
- Organize program documents, calendars, and resources
- Serve as a liaison between the program and the participants, ensuring an efficient flow of information
- Respond to participant emails in a timely manner while directing higher-level communications to the Sr. Program lead and Program Manager
- Coordinate and schedule all volunteer speakers/mentors/facilitators assignments according to the program schedule; Send calendar invites and ensure follow-up
- Manage programs’ Slack membership, volunteer access, and cohort channels
- Initiate volunteer outreach to BAI member lists and networks
- Build effective PowerPoint presentations using the provided curriculum and content outline
- Follow the data collection process to collect program metrics, including application numbers, student feedback, and program outcomes
- Compile and maintain program-related data
- Collect and analyze participant feedback to improve programming
- Participate in end-of-program survey to evaluate efficiency

- Collaborative: Able to work with and across the wide variety of industries, organizations, and demographics needed to overcome barriers to access

- Trustworthy: Navigates all interactions and work in confidentiality and alignment with the values of the organization
- A Bachelor's in science education, computer science, information systems or related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to present information in a concise and easily understandable manner.
- Minimum of one year of related experience.
- Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite, Excel, AirTable and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills and the ability to analyze information, identify concerns, and propose appropriate solutions
- Comfortable manipulating large amounts of data and creating data visualizations

- The annual compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; regularly sits at a computer station and operates electronic equipment 6 to 8 hours per day; occasionally lifts, carries, and positions objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
