How can you take creative risks without fear of failure?
We are taught at a very early age that failing is bad and it’s something that we should hide and/or be ashamed of. In the U.S., our education system has long been rooted in pass/fail. And yet some of the world’s brightest minds fail(ed) often and made incredible discoveries and inventions. We have to create environments where “failure” is expected and even promoted in order to get to the “good stuff”. Curiosity, continuous learning and improvement are really what it’s about.

The Consort Institute at Clark Atlanta University is a rapid workforce development program for fast training, upskilling, and reskilling of persons of color to support and increase diverse representation in the emerging technology fields. For more than a decade, the Consort Institute has conducted short-duration, credential-based courses focused on rapid professional training and upskilling at distinguished universities. The program at Clark Atlanta University uses the Consort Institute's expertise to establish a program focused on opportunities for African Americans to pursue well-paying family-sustaining careers. Advisory Board Member's primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting with student application review and selection
- Advising on program content
- Assisting with placement of the graduates
- Serving as a program advocate and ambassador
- Advising on job market demands for specific skills -
