If your Insight Tag source status shows as Unverified, this means that we haven’t received signal from your Insight Tag. If you’re seeing Unverified as your source status:
-
Check that your Insight Tag is set up correctly. A few common issues include:
- If you installed the tag yourself, make sure that you’ve copied the full code.
- Check to make sure you’ve used straight quotation marks instead of curly quotation marks when copying and pasting the tag.
-
The source status will show as Unverified until there is traffic on your website.
- After you set up your Insight Tag, we recommend that you visit the page where you've implemented the LinkedIn Insight Tag.
-
After someone visits your page, it may take up to 24 hours to see the status switch to Active.
If your tag is still not validating after 24 hours, please try these troubleshooting steps:
Use Ghostery, a third-party Chrome extension, or another similar tool, to quickly spot check and identify if the LinkedIn Insight Tag is firing. It's not enough to see the LinkedIn Insight Tag in Ghostery; the tag can still be picked up even if there is an error. To view these possible errors, click on the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions links within the Ghostery dropdown. Sample errors include "error no PID." If you see these errors, please contact your LinkedIn representative for an updated tag.
To ensure the LinkedIn Insight Tag has been correctly implemented on your webpage:
-
Right click on your webpage.
-
Click Inspect or Inspect Element, depending on your browser, from the menu.
-
Navigate to the Network or Net tab.
-
Filter for ads.linkedin.com
-
The status code should be 302.
Here's a tip
Place the LinkedIn JavaScript on the page exactly in the form as it's copied from Campaign Manager. Altering the JavaScript code often leads to problems.
Confirm that your LinkedIn Insight Tag was installed with straight quotes instead of curly quotes. Sometimes, when the Insight Tag code is copy and pasted, the straight quotation marks are changed into curly quotation marks.
If you manage several separate ad accounts, ensure the Partner ID (PID) in the tag you're implementing matches with the PID of the account where you would like the data to appear. You can check the PID for your ad account’s Insight Tag when you access the Insight Tag.
To check the PID on an Insight Tag installed on your website, review the beginning of the JavaScript code for a number after "_linkedin_data_partner_id =”.
