Picked up “Where Will You Be 5 Years from Today?” by Kobi Yamada at the recommendation of Terry Blachek. This book has been so enlightening, especially in moments of reflection like the one sparked by this page. As a recovering corporate HR executive, the leap of faith I took in starting my own firm was immense. The stakes were high - I was making great money, had an awesome team, and was comfortable… but that comfort started to feel like a trap. My calling to entrepreneurship became so powerful that the risk of not pursuing my dream became greater than the comfort of staying where I was. This page reminded me of the importance of recognizing our potential, even when we can’t fully see it ourselves. It’s a reminder that stepping out of our comfort zone is the only way to truly soar. If you’ve been hesitating on taking that next step, remember: your potential is enormous, and the only way to unlock it is to take that leap. Where will you be 5 years from today?

Yesterday, I had the privilege of hearing Maurice Clarett’s keynote at the cityCURRENT breakfast, and his story of redemption was truly inspiring. Some key takeaways resonated with me: - It takes what it takes to become the best version of yourself. For Maurice, prison became a turning point, forcing him to stop, reflect, and redirect his energy. - The right doors opened once he started working on himself. He emphasized the importance of demonstrating your best at all times- God rewards that. Don’t shy away from your gifts. - He shared how he transitioned from football to entrepreneurship, owning 47 foot and ankle clinics today. Winners find winners, and the energy you carry attracts the right people. - Most importantly, he listened, remained open to guidance, and dared to dream big. Maurice’s journey reminds us all to take ourselves seriously, embrace growth, and be unapologetic about our strengths.
