  • The biggest challenge in a recruitment business is to get your teams to replicate doing what's been proven to be successful in your business. As owners or leaders, we need to be constantly learning and exploring what are some new ways we might go about achieving things even more effectively. But, whatever is "the way" of doing things that generates the greatest results, that then needs to become the way that the whole business operates. And that's a challenge, in modest-sized businesses let alone larger ones! Hope this short video is a help with this - and, as always, would welcome your thoughts in the comments... #RecruitingTips #RecruitmentAdvice #Training

  • 🌟 Helping Candidates Make the Right Call on Counteroffers 🌟 As recruiters, we often see candidates tempted by counteroffers. Key Points to Share: 📌 Career Growth: Discuss how staying might impact their long-term goals. 📌 Original Reasons: Remind them of why they wanted to leave in the first place. 📌 Workplace Relationships: Consider how their current employer might perceive their decision to stay. 🎥 Watch this video to learn how you can support your candidates in making informed decisions that align with their long-term goals. #Recruitment #CareerAdvice #TalentStrategy

  • Americans are increasingly doing less work for the same pay. Here’s why ⬇️ The gap between the number of hours employees are working versus what they’re being paid for is growing. Over the past decade, the paid workweek has held steady at 34.5 hours, while the number of hours worked dropped to 32.9 a week in 2023. This is all thanks to a rise in paid vacation time, family leave and sick leave. Last year, US employers offered 80% of workers paid sick leave, up from 67% a decade earlier. It’s a similar case with paid vacation time – which was expanded to 77% of the workforce from 74% - and paid family leave – which saw the biggest jump to 27% from 12%. There are a few explanations for this. On the one hand, employers have had to expand their paid benefits to continue attracting and retaining workers with increasingly high expectations. Especially post-COVID, workers expect more flexibility and support from employers. Meanwhile, employees are taking advantage of these new benefits to better juggle their work, family and health and wellbeing. What do you think? Does this trend surprise you? • AI – Does it help candidates or hinder them?    Recruitment has changed, thanks to AI...    It’s changed how companies identify, attract, and hire talent. It also promises to enhance efficiency, reduce bias, and create a more streamlined hiring process. But is it helping or hindering candidates?    Let’s explore the pros and cons of AI for candidates:    ✅ AI helps to accelerate the hiring process. This means that candidates don’t have to wait weeks or months to hear back about the roles they’ve applied for.  ❌ However, it causes a lack of transparency. Candidates may feel alienated by automated rejection notices that come with no context or explanation for why the AI algorithm made the decision it did.    ✅ Candidates can receive more personalization; for example, AI-driven chatbots can respond instantly to candidate queries and updates on their application status. This real-time interaction can help candidates feel valued, respected, and better informed.  ❌ While it might feel personal, there are worries AI might start to feel bland and repetitive. Candidates often seek a connection with potential employers, but AI can strip away that human connection and make it feel cold and transactional.    ✅ It’s believed a positive of AI is that it can reduce human bias and exclusively focus on the skills and qualifications of the candidate.  ❌ That said, AI is only as unbiased as the data it is trained on. If historical hiring data is biased, AI will take this information and make the same biased hiring decisions.    To navigate the complexities of AI and ensure the candidate truly benefits from its use in recruitment, companies need to carefully choose how much AI assistance they use and ensure it is balanced with a healthy amount of human interaction.    Explore more about how AI can both help and hinder candidates: https://lnkd.in/e4nuUswR    #Recruitment #AI #Hiring #ExecutiveSearch

  • Let's talk some more about great recruiters. Great recruiters excel in their ability to interact with individuals from all walks of life. They possess exceptional communication skills and possess a remarkable ability to handle diverse personalities. They are also skilled at compartmentalization, allowing them to swiftly address challenges and forge ahead regardless of setbacks or other potential distractions. Have a listen for some more thoughts on this - and please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. All opinions welcomed.

  • What should recruitment business owners have their teams focus on to thrive right now? Here are a few thoughts: ✅ You have to market every day (and most 360 recruiters don't like to do this!) ✅ You've got to be getting regular market intel, learn something from every call you make! ✅ Your team have to believe that your clients really need you to make the hires they need. Doubting this really hurts your results ✅ You have to be tracking key metrics - and diagnosing some of the issues that are arising that are impacting your firm's performance.
