Congratulations to Iterum Therapeutics on receiving its first FDA approval of ORLYNVAH™ (oral sulopenem) for the treatment of certain types of uncomplicated UTIs! Several Velocity sites across the U.S. supported this research program. Thank you to the participants and site staff who supported this study – your help has equipped patients and physicians with a new treatment option, and a potential tool to fight drug-resistant bacteria.

We are proud and excited to announce that the FDA have approved Orlynvah™ (sulopenem etzadroxil and probenecid) for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (uUTIs) in adult women who have limited or no alternative oral antibacterial treatment options. We have delivered on our promise of achieving approval for the first oral penem antibiotic in the US and it’s been a privilege to work with the Iterum team (past and present) and our partners. Although we battled various headwinds over the years since we first licensed this drug from Pfizer, today marks an historic milestone.
