Nantakanta (May) Ratanachiwapong, Design & Program Director at URBN Playground, recently shared her wisdom and experiences on practicing inclusion at a recent event organized by SOUR and the School of Visual Arts (NYC). The conversation delved into the intricacies of "Practicing Inclusion" within complex organizational structures, exploring global, regional, and cultural nuances across diverse professions, departments, and backgrounds. In her session, May shared about how prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion has been crucial to URBN Playground's success. Through preventing discrimination and promoting equal opportunities, URBN has been able to build a team that encompasses a mix of skills, knowledge, ideas, and creativity. The event also explored other outcomes of practicing inclusion: heightened employee engagement, attracting high-quality talent, a broader talent pool, increased innovation, reduced turnover, higher productivity, and enhanced company reputation. The day focused on "Navigating People & Entrepreneurial Growth," a deep dive into what it takes to successfully transition from a startup to a scaling company.
