Happy #InternationalDayOfTheGirl! 🧒🏻👧🏻 Today and every day, we are recognizing the power of young women, and #UNO is proud to drive partnerships and programs that work to empower girls throughout Chicago: 💪🏽 Our Girls MPowered Program is there to offer guidance, support, and mentorship to girls in 6th-10th grade as they make transitions from childhood to young adulthood. Through this program, we give them key skills and resources to give them self-confidence, attack obstacles, and make them go above and beyond. 🏃🏽♀️Our RunHer Program empowers girls to go the distance, training and encouraging middle school girls to participate UNO Carrera de los Muertos 5K. These girls are guided by UNO Staff members and partners including a mental health specialist from @namichicago and runners from our very own Pilsen Community - Venados Running Club 🏀Our ABC Pilsen Athletics Girls Summer League just launched in June 2024! This weekly program serves hundreds of kids in the Pilsen community and encourages them to stay focused, driven, and have a place safe to play within their community. Each coach helps take the time to build competitive skill levels. Not only do they provide an outstanding basketball program they also offer academic programs and live by - “Athletics Through Academics” to go above and beyond the basketball court! #UNO #UNOChicago #Pilsen #Nonprofit #ItOnlyTakesOne #LatinaLeaders #Mentors #Carrera #CarreraDeLosMuertos #HispanicHeritageMonth #GirlsMpoweredProgram #GirlsRunTheWorld #ABCPilsen #Pilsen #Partnership #CantBeWhatYouDontSee #GirlEmpowerment
