    We welcomed Logan back to the farm for another summer as an irrigation intern. In the fall, he will be starting his junior year at Oregon State University. This summer, Logan has stayed busy assisting the team with the irrigation system. He can be found working on solo projects, checking VRI, sprinklers, shower banks, and other parts to ensure it is running efficiently. Logan is enjoying the opportunity to work on and build upon last year’s projects. We hope you have a great summer, Logan. Thanks for being part of the Threemile team!

    We are excited to have Tyler back on the farm for his third summer as an agronomy intern at the seed farm! Tyler is a fourth-year student at Eastern Oregon University, where he is pursuing a degree in Agriculture Entrepreneurship. This summer, he is gaining experience in a wide range of tasks, from scouting and sampling fields to operating tractors and working on potato equipment. His favorite aspect of the internship has been learning how to work on and rebuild potato-handling equipment, including tables and conveyors. We hope you have a great summer, Tyler!     Meet Kole, a first-year agronomy intern. Kole is going to attend Oregon State University in the fall, where he will study Mechanical Engineering and minor in Crop and Soil Science. As an agronomy intern, he has been busy completing soil and petiole samples in the potatoes, conducting corn stand counts, and analyzing soil samples in the onion fields. His favorite part of the internship has been working with everyone, especially his dad, Greg. We hope you have a great summer, Kole. Thanks for being a part of the Threemile team!

    Say hello to Riley, who spent the summer with us as a shop intern. Riley recently graduated from high school and plans to attend Blue Mountain Community College, where he will work towards a transfer degree while playing baseball. This summer in the shop, he has been working on oil services, assisting other team members, and shadowing more experienced mechanics. When asked what he enjoys about his internship, he says he has liked collaborating with everyone in the shop. We hope you had a great summer, Riley. Thanks for being a part of the Threemile team!

    With summer’s end quickly approaching, many of our interns are heading back to school. Today, our last couple of interns went on a tour to the local potato processing plant to see where our crop after harvest. This tour was a great opportunity for them to see how their hard work in the field growing high-quality potatoes contributes to production of delicious consumer favs!     Meet Daytona, who spent the summer with us as a dairy intern. She is a third-year student transferring to Oregon State University to pursue a degree in Biology, Pre-Vet. Daytona worked through her rotations, spending time in the hutches, hospital, reproduction, maternity, and running pens, learning how to administer IV fluids and medications. She says, “I love that I’m learning and experiencing new things every day and spending time with cows.” After she finishes school, she would like to pursue a career as a large animal embryologist.     Say hello to Nathan, from Pendleton who is spending the summer with us as an agronomy intern! He attends Oregon State University as an incoming sophomore, working toward an Ag Science degree with a minor in Ag and Food Business Management. This summer, Nathan has been busy with soil samples, sweeping potato and onion fields for bugs, and conducting corn stand counts. His favorite part of the internship? Reviewing sticky cards in the fields to identify bugs. After finishing school, he aspires to become an agronomist. Have a fantastic summer, Nathan! Thanks for being part of the Threemile team!
