  • Last month, Hurricane Helene caused widespread devastation, displacing thousands of families. Amid the destruction, communities across the nation stepped up to lend a helping hand—including Northern Kentuckian and The Christ Hospital’s own ER doctor, Dr. Ginger Bell, and her family. "It's small things that made a big difference, and to some people, realizing they were getting hot food, when they realize they may hot have anything.... We walked away with just a renewed sense of humanity." says Dr. Ginger Bell. Ginger, her husband—a retired Cincinnati police sergeant—and their three children packed up and drove to North Carolina to assist however they could. With the support of friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors, the Bells raised $12,000, collected thousands of dollars’ worth of non-perishable food items, and even arranged for a helicopter to deliver fresh produce to those in need. We couldn’t be prouder of this incredible act of community outreach! 💙 Read the full story to hear more about Ginger and her family's impact: https://lnkd.in/gpvsvBZD

Paul Favorito, MD, orthopedic surgeon, and his 2022 fellow, Dennis DeBernardis, DO, presented their shoulder arthroplasty research last week at the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Annual Meeting in San Antonio. Their presentation focused on a specialized glenoid prosthesis for shoulder replacements in patients with glenoid bone loss. This important research has also been accepted for publication in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery! Conducted alongside David Donnelly, PA, and Dr. Aditya Bahel, radiologist, this study represents the longest and most comprehensive follow-up on this prosthesis to date. We are incredibly proud of Dr. Favorito's mentorship and of these dedicated professionals for showcasing their significant contributions to orthopedic surgery research on a national stage.
